More Devon families get first preference primary school

More Devon families have got a place in their first choice primary school this September.

Figures published today (16th April) reveal that 6,863 applications were made across the county.

The new figures show that 97 per cent of the families who applied for a place in a mainstream county primary have got their first preference – that’s up on last year’s figure of 96.7 per cent.

Another 2.1 per cent were offered one of their other preferences.

That means 99.1 per cent of applications were successful in achieving one of their three preferred schools – up from 98.8 per cent last year.

Parents will be notified of their places today (Tues) and the admissions team will be available to deal with enquiries supported by the schools team at the Customer Service Centre.
