There was a nail-biting finish in Central Devon as the Conservatives held onto the seat with a majority of just 61 votes. Mel Stride retained his seat with 16,831 votes, narrowly defeating Labour's Ollie Pearson, who garnered 16,770 votes.
The final result mirrored the exit poll predictions, which had indicated that the contest would be too close to call and that the primary battle would be between the Conservatives and Labour.
The Central Devon constituency encompasses Okehampton, Crediton, Silverton, Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Moretonhampstead, and Chagford.
