National Park appeals people not to have BBQ's or fire pits on Dartmoor

Dartmoor National Park is appealing to people not to have BBQ's or fire pits when visiting the moor.

Over the summer months they have seen an increase in fire usage on Dartmoor, from fire pits to barbecue remains, all of which damage and mark the beautiful landscape. Each damaged area takes the Dartmoor Ranger team time and resources to fix and re-seed.

They want everyone to enjoy the moors, witness amazing sunsets, and climb a tor or two, and a fire isn’t needed to do that.

No fires on Dartmoor helps keep Dartmoor (and you) safe
