A Devon & Cornwall Police officer is due to appear in court this week to face a charge of rape.
Sergeant James Rawlinson, aged 36, has been postal requisitioned in connection with one charge of rape of a woman aged 16 years or over.
It relates to a reported incident in Exeter in August 2018 while the officer was off duty.
He is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday 23 June.
Sgt Rawlinson, who is based in Exeter, is currently suspended from duty.
