ECOE Advice Partners with Exmouth Town Council to Launch Pilot Retrofit Project to Improve Energy Efficiency of Local Homes

ECOE Advice, a non-profit promoting energy-efficient homes, launches a pilot project with Exmouth Town Council to encourage discussions and action on retrofitting homes for improved sustainability.

ECOE Advice, an award-winning, not-for-profit organization dedicated to making homes more energy-efficient, comfortable, and environmentally friendly, is excited to announce a new pilot project in collaboration with Exmouth Town Council. The project aims to stimulate conversations and inspire action around retrofitting homes in Exmouth to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.

ECOE Advice, established in 2014, has helped communities across the UK make their homes more eco-friendly, and is now focusing on Exmouth. The pilot project seeks to identify three local homes for a comprehensive ‘Whole House Plan’ Retrofit Assessment, available completely free of charge.

“We are thrilled to launch this initiative and offer local residents the chance to take part in improving the energy efficiency of their homes,” said the ECOE Retrofit Advice Team. “Our goal is to make retrofitting more accessible and to provide Exmouth residents with valuable resources that can benefit them now and in the future.”

The Whole House Plan Retrofit Assessment, which is valued at £800 to £1,000, includes a detailed survey of the selected homes and a customized Retrofit Report. This report will outline various retrofit scenarios tailored to each home, with estimated costs and potential savings. The project will focus on homes that share similar designs and characteristics, allowing for community-wide knowledge sharing and better-informed conversations about retrofitting.

How to Apply

Residents interested in participating in the pilot project are encouraged to apply. The programme is open to all homeowners in Exmouth, and particularly ideal for homeowners who have recently purchased their property or are considering refurbishments. Detailed information about the application process and eligibility can be found at www.ecoe.org.uk/exmouth-retrofit-offer.

Additional Support for Low-Income Households

For those who may not be eligible for the pilot project, ECOE Advice are also offering support through its Healthy Homes for Wellbeing initiative. This program provides free energy advice and can assist with grant referrals to help low-income households or those receiving benefits. More information can be found at www.ecoe.org.uk/healthy-homes-wellbeing.

“We want to ensure that all residents, regardless of their income, have access to the support they need to improve their homes’ energy efficiency,” said the ECOE Retrofit Advice Team.
