Fairtrade Fortnight celebrated in Exeter

Fairtrade Fortnight will be celebrated in Exeter with a coffee morning and tea tasting event in the city.

It takes place at St Stephen's Church, Exeter High Street, on Thursday 25 September, 10am-1pm. A variety of Fairtrade goods will be on sale.

Fairtrade Fortnight takes place from 22 September to 5 October. This year’s theme will be asking everyone to Do it Fair.

It will celebrate the difference everyone can make when choosing Fairtrade and will raise awareness of the campaign for a fairer system behind the things consumed every day.

Fairtrade works with small-scale farmers and workers around the world to build a fairer trade system - one where producers earn a decent income and work in safe conditions.

Cllr Matt Vizard, Lead Councillor for Communities, said: “Exeter has been a Fairtrade City for a long time, and we share the values and objectives of trying to create a fairer world.

“I would urge everyone to show their support by buying Fairtrade products whenever it is possible to do so, because together we can make a difference.”
