A community centre in Exeter has put a call out for dehumidifiers after the building was flooded by heavy rain on Monday night.
The Beacon Community Centre, in Beacon Heath, Exeter, posted on Facebook on Tuesday morning: “Can you help! We've had some amazing community support today and managed to sweep most flood water out. We have another ask, if anyone has a dehumidifier they could lend us, we would really appreciate it. Please label it clearly so we can return it to you safely. Thank you everyone ”
Cllr Matt Vizard, Lead Councillor for Climate, Ecological Change and Communities, said: “The Beacon Community Centre is fantastic community facility and it’s heartening to see wonderful community minded people springing into action at times like this to get the centre back up and running again.”
