Football teams invited to bid for playing pitches

Grassroots football teams in Exeter are being invited to register their interest in using pitches across the city.

The City Council is about to allocate pitches and needs to understand the demand for its facilities.

Cllr Ruth Williams, Lead Councillor for City Management, said that to ensure the process was fair and equitable, all teams were invited to express their interest.

“We’re keen to hear from all teams in the city who would like to use City Council pitches for next season.

“However, we only have a limited number of pitches, at Cowick Barton playing fields, Bettysmead, Wonford playing fields, Pinhoe Station Road and Bromhams Farm.

“We will do our best to allocate facilities – and we will need to consider the impact of multiple teams on the playing surface - but we may not be able to accommodate everyone.”

To get involved in the process, teams need to email publicrealmenquiries@exeter.gov.uk with their requirements, I.E. number and type of teams, age groups and preferred sites by the end of June.
