A forklift tractor fire on Monday morning (March 3) led to the closure of the B3180 between Higher Metcombe and the A3052 at Hidden Oak for two days.
The fire broke out at around 9 a.m., with emergency services responding to the scene. While the exact cause remains unknown, fuel from the tractor spread and ignited, causing significant damage to the road surface.
No casualties were reported, but repairs were required before the road could safely reopen. Authorities advised motorists to seek alternative routes during the closure.
