Have you considered voting by post in May’s elections?

If you want to vote by post make sure you register your application soon.

When it comes to voting in May’s elections, people can choose to vote by post.

There’s just seven weeks to go until elections in Exeter.

Elections for the City Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will take place on Thursday 2 May, with polling stations open across the city from 7am to 10pm.

And it’s vital that people are on the electoral register if they want to vote, especially with a parliamentary election also expected within the year ahead. This is also easy to do – simply register to vote by visiting the Electoral Commission website at https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/register-vote-and-update-your-details

But those voting don’t have to come out to the polling stations if they don’t want to – they can vote from home using a postal vote.

Registering for a postal vote is easy and can be done online on the City Council website at exeter.gov.uk/postalvotes. The last date for postal vote applications to be received is 5pm on Wednesday 17 April.
