The Royal Devon have recently improved their process for helping to manage their waiting lists more effectively.
How It Works
If you are on a waiting list and have not been seen for 12 weeks, you will receive a check-in message from (from +44 7860 039 092).
This message will ask you to confirm whether you still need to remain on the waiting list and give you the opportunity to update them if there have been any changes to your situation.
Why They are Doing This
The goal is to keep waiting lists accurate and up-to-date, which helps them prioritise care for those who need it most and reduce waiting times.
If your needs have changed, or if you’ve received care elsewhere, a quick response lets them adjust their records and free up space for other patients in need.
Improvements Based on Patient Feedback
Since they introduced this process in April 2024 they have listened to feedback from patients and made some improvements to the text messages.
They know clear communication is important, so moving forward each text message will specify the care team relating to your appointment/procedure, along with clearer instructions for responding.
This initiative is part of their broader commitment to improve the patient experience, making sure that each step of your journey with them is as clear, responsive, and supportive as possible.
