Lib Dems win new Honiton and Sidmouth constituency

Liberal Democrat Richard Foord has triumphed over Conservative Simon Jupp in the Honiton and Sidmouth constituency.

The election saw voters deciding among : Jake Bonetta (Labour), Vanessa Coxon (Independent), Hazel Exon (Party of Women), Richard Foord (Liberal Democrat), Henry Gent (Green), Simon Jupp (Conservative), and Paul Quickenden (Reform UK).

Foord and Jupp faced off after a boundary review led to the abolition of their previous constituencies. Foord was initially elected to the former Tiverton and Honiton seat in 2022, securing a 6,144-vote majority following the resignation of disgraced Conservative MP Neil Parish, who had served for 12 years. Jupp previously won the former East Devon seat in 2019 with a 6,708-vote majority.
