Big-hearted volunteers have been out and about picking up litter from around Exeter’s waterside.
The Friends of Exeter Ship Canal (FESC) recently organised a litter pick along the waterway.
Exeter City Council supplied litter-picking equipment for the event, which followed a circular route from the Canal Office to Salmonpool Bridge and then back on the other side of the Canal.
The group hope to organise another event soon.
Cllr Ruth Williams, Lead Councillor for City Management, said earlier in the year: “We have so many caring and community-minded people in Exeter who are happy to step in and keep their neighbourhoods tidy. Our cleansing teams do a great job to keep the city clean but the reality is they can’t be everywhere, all the time.”
Any groups or individuals who would like to book the equipment for a litter pick for The Great British Spring Clean or any other date is urged to contact the Council on 01392 262630.
