A man has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications following a series of threatening messages directed at multiple schools in Exeter.
The threats, which were shared via social media, prompted at least one school in the city to enter a "soft lockdown" as a precautionary measure.
Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that no schools were physically approached and there have been no reported injuries linked to the incident.
Chief Inspector Chris Conway addressed the community, stating: “I can confirm we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this matter.
“We understand that the incident has caused concern within the community, particularly due to the increased police presence. At this time, we do not believe any schools were visited, and no one has been harmed.
“We ask the public not to speculate on social media while the investigation is ongoing. If you have any immediate concerns, please speak directly to our Neighbourhood Team, who will be patrolling on foot.”
