There’s still time to apply for a postal vote for the elections in May.
Elections for the City Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will take place on Thursday 2 May, with polling stations open across the city from 7am to 10pm.
People can decide to vote at a polling station on the day, or in advance via a postal vote. Applications for postal votes must be received by the City Council by 5pm on Wednesday 17 April.
But whether it’s a postal vote or in person at the polling station on the day, people will still need to ensure they’re on the electoral register to do so. The deadline for these elections is Tuesday 16 April and it’s easy to do – simply register to vote by visiting the Electoral Commission website at https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/register-vote-and-update-your-details
