Take Pride in Exeter this weekend

Exeter Pride takes place on Saturday 10 May, with free events happening across the city to celebrate equality, equity and inclusion.

It’s one of the biggest Pride events in the country, celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and questioning plus (LGBTQ+) communities.

Exeter City Council supports Exeter Pride and has given a £2,500 City Grant towards this year’s event.

As usual, at the centre of things is the annual Pride march through the centre of Exeter, setting off from St Sidwell’s Community Centre at 12 noon.

Afterwards there’s free entertainment in Northernhay and Rougemont Gardens from 12.45pm until 6pm, with 15 acts across two stages, a drum circle, Morris Dancing and a dog show!

There will be food, a bar, vendors and organisations.

Nearby at Exeter Phoenix and Exeter Library there is a full schedule of short films, activities and events to get involved in.

And at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery (RAMM), there will be a chance to connect with RAMM’s collections in a different way.

Local artist Scott Gillespie has created an engaging, beautifully designed activity that invites people of all ages to explore the museum’s remarkable collections and discover connections to their own identities.

At 1.30pm in the Workshop room, Fylm Ankoth and It Gets Better will be holding a friendly and informal session bringing together screenwriters from across the South West.
