The proposal to relocate Tipton St John Primary School has faced significant opposition.
The consultation, which ended last month received a response from Amanda Fulford, the Executive Headteacher of the Ottery Valley Federation
In her letter, she noted that 48 written responses, a report from the TASC action group, a petition from the children, and another petition with 933 signatures all opposed the relocation.
She stated, "Governors met on Monday evening and share the view that moving the school out of the village should be a last resort. After a thorough discussion, it was agreed that further engagement with Devon County Council is necessary to determine the next steps. Governors will reach out to Devon County Council to gain a deeper understanding, which will likely be influenced by this period of election sensitivity."
"It's hoped that a decision on how to proceed will be made at the next Full Governing Board Meeting on July 8."
