It is with regret that Exeter Rugby Club are ceasing running away-day travel for supporters to games in the Gallagher Premiership, Heineken Champions Cup and Premiership Rugby Cup.

The decision has been reached due to a distinct lack of uptake where travel has been offered and provided this season.

Exeter Rugby Club chairman and chief executive, Tony Rowe OBE, said: “I made a commitment previously to our supporters that as a club we would put on travel for games away from Sandy Park in this country.

“We have stuck to that commitment, both before the pandemic struck and since supporters were allowed to return to games, but it is clear that the numbers are just not there for us to make this a viable option moving forward. It’s not a decision we wanted to make, but we simply cannot afford to subsidise at great cost a coach for just a handful of people.

“If there becomes a genuine call for the service to be reinstated, then we will of course look at bringing back the option of having supporter coaches for away games.”
