A round up of this weekends local football results.
In local football on Saturday Exmouth Town were knocked out of the F A Trophy by visiting Hampshire side Horndean F C going down 2-1 in a close encounter at Southern road. Horndean took the lead midway through the first half but a Tom Bath penalty leveled for Town before the break , but the visitors regained the lead early after the restart and although chances came and went the home side could not find the all important equaliser.
In the Peninsula league east Cullompton Rangers lost ground at the top with a 4-2 defeat at Stoke Gabriel/Torbay police at the Charchward ground but Crediton Utd beat struggling new boys Middlezoy Rovers away by 3 goals to 1 .
In the FA Vase Okehampton Argyle cruised into the next round with a 4-0 victory over visiting Millbrook to Simmons park, Sidmouth Town beat western league Wellington 3-1 at their playing fields ground but Honiton Town were knocked out losing 2-1 to Torpoint Athletic another Western league club
In the A & S Devon league league leaders Alphington fc kept their unbeaten record with a comfortable 4-0 victory over visiting Ipplepen Athletic, Budleigh Salterton were beaten 3-2 at north Devon side Appledore FC , Ottery St Mary lost 2-0 at south hams side Dartmouth Utd, Topsham Town were held to a 3 all away draw with Bere Alston Utd but Beer Albion convincingly beat North Molton S C 5-2 in north Devon.
In the Devon and Exeter premier league Colyton fc lost 3-2 to Clyst Valley at the Peace Memorial ground and Upottery could only manage a 2 all draw with visiting Wellington second eleven at Glebe park, but in division one East Budleigh beat Elmore Utd reserves 3-1 at Horsdon park.
In division 2 Exmouth Spartans had a 3-1 victory over visiting Dawlish Utd at the Commons while Seaton Town were knocked out of the Sleeman cup 1-0 by Alphington second eleven at Colyford road. In division 3 Heavitree Utd thrashed Tipton St John's 8-1 at the social club ground while in division 4 Starcross Dons beat Railway FC 3-1 at the sports field .
Finally in division 7 Exe Utd lost 2-1 at Westexe Park Rangers seconds and Exmouth U 25s were beaten 1-0 at Exeter side Priory FC.
