Local league rugby on Saturday saw the conclusion of the season with the final round of fixtures.
In Regional one south west Exmouth Cockels finished on a high with a 31-22 victory at Gloucester side Lydney and Brixham also won with an away win over Cornish side St Austell by 19 points to 14 .
In Regional two south west league champions Sidmouth had a convincing 43-14 victory over visiting North Petherton at the Blackmore field, Topsham overwhelmed Cullompton 57-19 at the Bonfire field, Teignmouth beat local rivals Newton Abbot 27-20 at Bitton park but Crediton narrowly lost away to Cornish side Truro by 24 points to 19 to finish fourth in the division .
In Counties one western west Tiverton were crowned champions after their easy 52-10 victory over Cornishmen Penryn at Bolham road with Paignton finishing a close second on count back with a narrow 26 -22 win against Plymstock Albion Oaks at Queens park while in Counties two Devon Barnstaple Athletic were league winners but Withycombe failed to live up to their early form and were beaten 28-17 by North Tawton at Raleigh Park, Torquay Athletic finished on a high overwhelming bottom club Ivybridge seconds 71- 14 at Cross in Hands to secure runners up spot and Honiton beat Devonport Services Pilgrims 38 -17 at the Rectory .Finally in Counties three Devon north and east Kingsteignton based New Cross convincingly beat visiting Tiverton Quins by 40 points to 26 at Meadowcroft.
