In local rugby on Saturday in the regional one south west division Exmouth Cockles were narrowly beaten 18-15 by Devonport Services at the Rectory.
In a game where the lead changed hands several times, they were undone by a late penalty in injury time but did gain a losing bonus, in regional two west Sidmouth lost by a single point going down 16-15 at Bridgwater Albion on Friday evening while unbeaten league leaders Crediton overcame a stubborn Teignmouth side 26-15 at Exhibition Road.
In the Counties one western west Cullompton remain top with 100% record after a 29-17 victory over visitors Kingsbridge at Stafford park but Topshams home game against Tiverton was postponed due to weather conditions but they stay in second place while in the counties two Devon Withycombe had a convincing 31 point's to nil win over Devonport Services second fifteen at Raleigh park and Honiton also had a home victory easily beating visitors South Molton 34-15 at Allhallows but Exeter Saracens went down to Brixham seconds at the Exhibition fields by 29 points to 19.
Finally in the Counties 3 Devon East division Exeter Athletic won 31-17 at north devon side Torrington but Cullompton second fifteen lost by just one point going down 8-7 at New Cross .
