A man has been jailed for six years after pleading guilty to burglaries at schools, commercial and residential premises around Teignmouth and Dawlish.

Callum Tumilty aged 30, of no fixed abode in Dawlish, was sentenced at Exeter Crown Court on Mon 18 August after the court heard details of burglaries at primary schools in the Dawlish and Teignmouth area over the past 18 months. Neighbourhood Beat Manager PC Ben Chadwick said: “We are delighted by the result and the custodial sentence that has been handed down to this offender. It demonstrates the importance of work carried out by a number of departments over the past months and the dedication from several police officers to see justice done on behalf of vulnerable members of our community.”
