Teignbridge parks honoured with Green Flag Awards

Teignbridge District Council is celebrating after four parks have received a coveted Green Flag Award for another year.

Decoy Countryside ParkCourtenay Park Newton AbbotHomeyards Botanical Garden, Shaldon and The Den, Teignmouth have all received the prestigious flag and are officially recognised as some of the country’s best parks after achieving international quality mark for parks and green spaces.

The news that these sites have met the standards required for the accreditation is down to the hard work and dedication of the team that cares for these green spaces so that visitors and residents alike can enjoy them.

 

Nationally 2,250 parks and green spaces have received the green flag accreditation. 

The international Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark management standard for green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
