Four community-led projects across Teignbridge have been awarded funding through The Rural Economy and Communities Fund, made possible by the Rural England Prosperity Fund.

The successful projects include:
- Funding to install a new pool liner and steps, improving accessibility and inclusivity for all users at Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool. The upgrade will be carried out over the winter months, ready for the 2026 summer season.
- Much-needed improvements to Broadhempston play park alongside the creation of a nature garden to extend and enhance the space. The improvements will benefit residents, school children and visitors to the village.
- Funding towards the build of a new energy-efficient Community Hall in Widecombe to create a large social and meeting space with accessible facilities.
- Improvements to paths within the Walled Garden in Parke, Bovey Tracey making the area accessible for prams and wheelchairs and allowing more residents and visitors to enjoy the area.
The Rural Economy and Communities Fund, which opened in July, invited local organisations and community groups to apply for up to £75,000 to improve inclusive infrastructure and promote community wellbeing.
This round of funding has allocated £195,000 to support the projects. Over £800,000 has been allocated to local projects through the Rural England Prosperity Fund since 2023.
Previous projects funded have included two brand-new minibuses operated by Newton Abbot Community Transport to improve rural transport, the creation of a more accessible off-road path in Moretonhampstead and enhancements walking and cycling routes at Steps Bridge and Parke.
