Torbay Christmas lights keep being vandalised

Whilst Torbay Council are thrilled that so many people are enjoying the Bay of Lights Illumination Trail. Unfortunately, a small number of people seem to want to spoil the trail for others and have been causing damage to many of the light installations.

The Councils contractor is out daily repairing damage and checking the installations. While they are carrying out this work, they are facing further damage and abuse. This is not acceptable.

Torbay Councils ASB team is working with the contractor and other agencies including the Police to identify and deal with the individuals that are responsible for the damage.

The Council will be putting in place extra measures over the coming days to proactively deal with this unacceptable behaviour. If you spot anyone causing damage, please report it to the Police.

They would also like to remind people that all the light installations are there to be visually enjoyed and should not be touched or played with.
