Torquay Library is welcoming the community with a new initiative offering free breakfasts on Friday mornings over the Winter.
The breakfast club has been made possible thanks to volunteer hours through a network of local businesses.
Following the success of the Willmott Dixon-funded library breakfast club last year, over 700 breakfasts were consumed in Torquay Library between October 2024 and March 2025. Local businesses and individuals are invited to volunteer and help make a difference this winter.
“Libraries are warm, welcoming spaces where people can come together. Over the winter, we run initiatives like coat rails and free breakfasts to support our communities through the colder months. At Torquay Library, this project creates another opportunity for connection and reminds us that libraries are wonderful hubs of activity for everyone. Coming together as a community can make a real difference to people’s days. We are delighted to be working with our partners and volunteers to bring people together during what for some is the loneliest time of the year.” shared Alex Kittow, Chief Executive Officer at Libraries Unlimited.
