A series of roadshows, surveys and public events will be taking place in Torbay throughout the autumn months to give local people the chance to have their say on local services.
Until 2 November 2025 Torbay Council will undertake a second local Residents’ Satisfaction Survey to seek the views of its residents on the effectiveness of the Council, following on from the first one completed during the summer of 2023.
The questions in the survey are based on the recommended ones from the Local Government Association (LGA) and means wthey are able to compare results with other councils. The results from last time also gave them a benchmark to compare the outcome of future surveys in Torbay to see how they are doing. This will support ongoing improvements in our services.
The main survey is for people aged 16 and over in Torbay but there is also a survey for children and young people aged 12-15. There will be a series of pop-up roadshows with a gazebo where residents will be offered the chance to give their views on local services at a range of venues including town centres, libraries and shopping areas in Torquay, Brixham and Paignton.
In addition, during this autumn and winter the Council will be also asking residents and stakeholders for their views on proposed changes to the Council Tax Support Scheme, and the proposed new Health and Wellbeing Strategy for Torbay. From November the Council will also be asking for your views on its Budget for 2026/27 and on the Local Plan.
Leader of Torbay Council Cllr David Thomas said: “We are very grateful to all the local residents who took the time to take part in our first survey in 2023, and we are delighted to be able to launch our second LGA Residents’ Satisfaction Survey and Roadshows.
“Residents are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to listening to your views.
“Regular surveys provide us with ongoing feedback to help us focus on your priorities.
“The survey helps us understand what residents think of the Council, the services we provide as well as other aspects of life in Torbay.
“We are also launching a children and young people’s survey for 12 – 15 year olds.
"Please come along, have a chat and give us your views."
