Police crackdown on speeding drivers

Members of the Safer Camera Partnership team attended Le Molay Littry Way in Bovey Tracey this week.

The team were supporting requests to the Neighbourhood Police team from the local community concerned about the speed of vehicles in the area.

Unfortunately several vehicles were caught speeding, and the drivers will be receiving contact from the Police in the near future.

Please remember it is 30 MPH for a reason and even a slight increase in speed increases the risk of severe injuries and even death.

Speeding is one of the fatal five, the leading causes of serious injury and death on UK roads

1/Excess or inappropriate speed

2/Not wearing a seatbelt

3/Driving using your mobile phone

4/Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs

5/Careless or inconsiderate driving
