Aspiring nurses in Teignbridge now have the unique opportunity to join a newly introduced nursing cadet program.
South Devon UTC in Newton Abbot has partnered with the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust to offer students hands-on experience in healthcare, under the support of HRH Prince of Wales.
This pilot program, the first of its kind in the South West, aims to inspire and educate young people interested in nursing careers.
By observing nursing staff at work, students gain valuable insights into the profession, helping them understand the realities of healthcare and equipping them with foundational skills for a future in nursing.
The program seeks to bridge the gap between education and healthcare by giving students a real-world view of the profession and the skills needed to succeed.
