NHS Devon were notified of the sudden and unexpected closure of Kevin McGarey Dental Practice in Hyde Road, Paignton.
Unfortunately, they did not receive any notice from the contract holder that the practice would be closing, which means patients were not notified.
NHS Devon understand Kevin McGarey, who previously ran the dental surgery, is no longer associated with it and has had no involvement with the practice for some years.
NHS Devon, which took over responsibility for commissioning NHS dentistry in the county in April 2023, is working with local partners to urgently identify patients who are under a current treatment plan at the practice. We are also looking at how we can urgently mobilise additional capacity locally to ensure there is access for anyone who is in the middle of a treatment plan.
